NEW RESEARCH SHOWS INCREASED INTEREST IN GREEN AND ETHICAL INVESTING

London, 12 October – Penny Shepherd, UKSIF chief executive, comments on new research from EIRIS that shows increased interest in green and ethical investing.

Penny Shepherd, UKSIF Chief Executive, said:

“What is clear is that green and ethical investments can perform at least as well as other investments.  Therefore, if performance is not the issue, the question is: ‘Do investors also want to make a difference with their money?’ The research from EIRIS shows that the answer is ‘Yes’. It’s extremely positive that High Net Worth investors are increasingly considering green and ethical options.

“Financial advisers should be aware of this business opportunity and ensure they have the knowledge base to advise their clients. National Ethical Investment Week, which runs from 8 – 14 November, will highlight the information and guidance available for advisers to take advantage of this growing market.”
